We have (at least) one more meal to eat and then I do promise to post lots and lots of food things. Today, though, we went to museums between meals.* We spent the day visiting Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera!**
We started at the Museo Frida Kahlo, also known as the Blue House. Frida lived here most of her life and you can now tour the home and see some of her featured artwork. The entire home surrounds a courtyard with beautiful flowers and is accented by the bright blue walls.
Inside you can see some of her art, her kitchen***, and her studio. There was a super cool exhibit on her clothing, as well. She battled health issues for the majority of her life including polio as a child that left her with one leg longer than the other. She was also in an accident at 18 that fractured her spine and pelvis. She dressed, often in corsets, to disguise her body and it led to her elaborate costumes.
From a focus on Frida, we went to Diego. We first stopped at the Museo Mural Diego Rivera Museum which houses a mural he originally painted for Hotel Del Prado in Mexico City. When the hotel was destroyed in the 1985 earthquake, it was moved in its entirety to be displayed in its own museum.
The mural is called "Dream of a Sunday Afternoon" and features figures from Mexican history from all time periods. There is a lot going on.****
We ended the day at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, a beautiful art deco building that houses a rotating exhibit and more Diego murals.*****
Tomorrow we head home but I'll definitely be back to visit the 8 million other museums in this city we did not have time for.
Hasta Luego!

*Unlike yesterday. There were just meals.
**And, at one point, being them.
