Can I get an Amman?

Today we flew two hours west to Amman, Jordan. When we stepped off the plane it was 30 degrees cooler than we got on in Kuwait. The landscape is still arid but actually has things growing in it and after two weeks in the desert, it might as well be Ferngully. We traded mosque and fort tours for churches and castles but we still had hummus with lunch. You shouldn't mess with a good thing.

We went straight from plane to car and saw some of the Jordanian sights. They included mosaic churches from the Byzantine era,
castles from the crusader era,
and lots of things Moses did.
(Dead Sea sighting in the distance!)
We definitely should have been reading the Old Testament to prepare for this leg of the trip. Fortunately there was a wax museum that caught us up.

Seriously. There was a Moses-themed wax museum.

When our guide said we were going to a wax museum, I was really banking on taking my picture next to Matt Damon. Apparently that is not a chapter of the version they use. I don't know who I need to talk to about that but I'm guessing I'll find them somewhere between here and Jerusalem. Fingers crossed!
